Planning, at its best, creates a shared understanding of the present situation, the desired future, and an effective way to get from here to there. It's that simple --- in concept. In reality, there are multiple points of view, competing agendas, and varying degrees of confidence about how to proceed. The planning process allows a leadership group to gather input from all who need to be heard, add essential data about the market and organizational performance, and build a consensus about a clear direction.

Powell & Dyer-Gear can help:

  • Organize the strategic planning process (work with you on developing the agenda, choosing who to involve and how, setting a timeline)
     
  • Assist with organizing data for the planning process. If necessary and desired, facilitate a SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats).
     
  • Facilitate a series of meetings to develop and/or clarify Mission, Vision, Strategic Goals, Annual Goals, and Roles. Align all of these elements so they form a coherent plan.
     
  • Assist with launching the plan so that staff feel included and energized.
